§ 47. Mr. Doddsasked the President of the Board of Trade if he is aware of the growing practice of furniture retailers to circumvent the Hire Purchase and Credit Sale Agreements (Control) Order, 1952, by schemes of rental agreements; and what steps he is taking to check such practices.
§ Mr. H. StraussFurniture, other than office furniture, does not come within the provisions of this Order. With regard to articles falling within its provisions, I would refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave on the 6th May to my hon. and learned Friend the Member for York (Mr. Hylton-Foster) about alleged evasion of this Order.
