§ Sir T. DugdaleVarious schemes are already in operation for assisting the development of marginal land. These include the Livestock Rearing Act, 1951, the hill cattle subsidy, the Marginal Production Scheme, and the assistance available to all farmers for field drainage, water supply, lime and phosphatic fertilisers as well as ploughing grants.
