§ Mr. H. StraussThe export of prefabricated buildings, including houses, has contributed substantially both to United Kingdom earnings and to the development of Commonwealth and Empire resources. In view of the serious position of the balance of payments, the Government will, as far as possible, continue to help the industry to maintain its valuable export trade. There is no reason to suppose that these exports will prejudice the housing drive.
