§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeThe police are not supplied by the Home Office with a list of banned books, but only with a list of books that have been condemned by the courts. If a list of that kind were sent to booksellers it would imply that they were free to deal in any books that did not appear on the list, and would be misleading. There is no censorship of books by the Executive in this country.
