HC Deb 26 March 1952 vol 498 c53W
24. Sir J. Lucas

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if he will take steps to see that the lodging allowance promised to Mr. H. Wiltshire, 14, The Paddocks, Chatham, is paid forthwith, as all efforts to obtain it have been fruitless.

Mr. Digby

As Mr. Wiltshire is a widower without dependants, he is not entitled to lodging allowance during his time at Chatham. My hon. and gallant Friend will now have received my right hon. Friend's letter, explaining that his earlier reply was based on erroneous information.
