§ Mr. J. StuartThe total area of plantations belonging to the Forestry Commission in Scotland is about 290,000 acres, and the number of workers employed by them is about 4,200.
19WThe Commission are at present planting at the rate of about 30,000 acres a year, and hope to increase this rate to 40,000 acres by 1956. This will involve an increase in the number of workers employed to about 5,000.
