§ 75. Mr. Langford-Holtasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department for what reason police officers in the Metropolitan area ask motorists their age and profession when questioning them concerning parking offences.
§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeI am informed by the Commissioner of Police that a question as to age should be asked only if a person appears to be a juvenile. There are no instructions that officers are to inquire as to profession, but it is the practice to ask whether the address tendered by a reported person is his private or business address.
