§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterThe number of dog licences issued for the year ended 31st March, 1949, and the two following years were 3,050,062, 3,089,450 and 2,921,534, with receipts of£1,143,727,£1,158,464 and£1,095,539 respectively. As the receipts in England and Wales go to the local authorities, only the sums arising in Scotland accrued to the Exchequer. They were£71,745,£74,525 and£69,678.
