§ Mr. Selwyn LloydFrau Mewes was employed in the British Governor's house in accordance with the regulations in force in Werl prison. It is not true to say that she was free to use this house. She slept in the prison and was fed on the normal prison diet. She worked only in the kitchen and, apart from that, had the day-time use of a servant's room. When working in the Governor's house Frau Mewes wore a prison uniform and was never alone during her work periods. She was not free to make shopping excursions into the town.
