HC Deb 13 March 1952 vol 497 c146W
64. Dr. Stross

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has taken note of the representations made to him by interested societies with reference to a proposed Bill to extend the provisions of the Cinematograph Act of 1909 to exhibitions of non-inflammable films; and whether he will take steps to include in the Bill all such exemptions that are reasonable and have been the normal practice of exhibiting societies.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

Clause 5 of the Cinematograph Bill contains provisions for the exemption of non-commercial exhibitions, which the House will in due course have an opportunity of considering in detail.
