HC Deb 04 March 1952 vol 497 c25W
42. Mr. Gooch

asked the Minister of Works if he will reconsider his proposal to purchase on behalf of Government communications a site at Hindringham, Norfolk, for the purpose of erecting a radio station; and if he will re-site the radio station on land of less agricultural value.

Mr. Eccles

The site at Hindringham meets the stringent technical requirements for a radio station. No other suitable site of less agricultural value has been found and it is hoped that all but a negligible proportion of the Hindringham site will remain in cultivation.
