§ 91. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Minister of National Insurance what rates of pension would be required to give widows and old age pensioners the same purchasing power as when their present pensions were first awarded.
§ Mr. PeakeOn the basis of the Official Index of Retail Prices introduced in June, 1947, and the previous cost of living index, 34s. 4d. would be required to give the same purchasing power as 26s. in October, 1946.
