§ 19. Mr. Beswickasked the Minister of Transport in view of the fact that recent increases in freight charges were due in part to increases in the price of coal which in turn resulted, in part, from earlier increases in freight charges, what steps he proposes to take to ensure that the latest increases in coal prices do not lead to further increases of freight charges.
§ Mr. MaclayI have not received any application from the British Transport Commission for a further increase in railway freight charges on this ground.
