Brownasked the Minister of Agriculture how many individual orders have been served under the Tillage (Maximum Pasture Acreage) Order in the six months ended 1st June, 1952; the total number of Orders in existence at that date; the number of Orders which have lapsed; and the number of prosecutions for contraventions in the same period.
§ Sir T. DugdaleSixty-nine directions were served under the Order during the six months ended 1st June, 1952, making a total of 485 since the Order came into operation on 31st July, 1948. Directions lapse only on a change of occupier. The number which have so lapsed, and consequently the number which remain legally in force, are not readily available. There have been no prosecutions during the six months ended 1st June, 1952.
