§ 82. Mr. H. Hyndasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what steps are being taken to extend apprenticeship in skilled trades and professions for Africans in Kenya.
§ Mr. LytteltonThe Kenya Government have accepted in principle a scheme under which pupils of sufficient basic education would receive three years' training at a trade training centre, followed by two years' on training in the Public Works Department, or, where possible, in private industry, under the direction of skilled supervisors. It is hoped soon to overcome certain practical obstacles to this scheme and thereafter to improve the present system of trade training at all levels.
