§ 93. Mr. Mott-Radclyffeasked the Secretary of State for War if he has any information regarding the explosion which took place at Combermere Barracks, Windsor, on 17th June; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. HeadA court of inquiry on this accident is to be held as soon as those injured are able to give evidence. The first report shows that a squad of 19 Regular recruits of the Household Cavalry were receiving instruction from a fully qualified instructor in the use of grenades, detonators and gun-cotton. Most unfortunately, as a result of an accidental explosion, one trooper was killed and the instructor and 12 troopers were injured. I would take this opportunity of expressing my sympathy with these men and their relatives.
