Miss Wardasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the fact that it has been found possible to continue the full grant in aid to the Women's Voluntary Services on the grounds that the services rendered are of value to the community, he will, in consultation with other Government Departments, reconsider the curtailment of grants to other voluntary organisations who are also doing important community work.

§ Mr. R. A. ButlerThe amounts of any Exchequer grants paid to voluntary organisations must be considered on their individual merits in relation to the paramount need for economy in Government expenditure.
