§ 60. Mr. Bowdenasked the Minister of Transport if he will have urgent inquiries made to see what immediate steps can be taken to reduce the danger to pedestrians and vehicles using the narrow humped-backed bridge at Coalpit Lane, Aylestone, Leicester, in view of the increasing volume of traffic on this road, particularly at week-ends.
Mr. BraithwaiteI agree that this is not a satisfactory bridge, but its narrowness and humped-back character are indicated by warning signs. I regret that in present economic circumstances my right hon. Friend could not approve its rebuilding.
