§ 77. Mr. Jannerasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the Report of the World Health Organisation that Britain has the highest cancer mortality rate in the world, he will consult with the Medical Research Council as to the possibility of substantially increasing the volume of research work at present being carried out in this field.
§ Miss Hornsby-SmithThe extension of cancer research is constantly under 53W review in consultation with the Medical Research Council. But I would point out that it is made clear in this Report that no firm conclusions about comparative cancer mortality in different countries can safely be based on the figures in it.
