§ Mr. Iain MacleodIn England and Wales up to 31st March, 1952, the total number of cases reported to the regional appeals committees which hear appeals on matters affecting conditions of service, including grading, was 630. This appeals machinery was not established until the end of 1950 and the number of cases reported before 31st March, 1951, would be small.
