§ Sir D. Maxwell FyfeOn the 30th June, 1952, the strength of the Civil Defence Corps in England and Wales was 201,349; in Scotland 14,491 and in Northern Ireland 2,245. On the same date the strength of the Auxiliary Fire Service in England and Wales was 12,171; in Scotland 776 and in Northern Ireland 589.
