§ 61. Sir W. Smithersasked the Assistant Postmaster-General what steps he has taken, or proposes to take, to ensure that the provisions of Sections 11 and 12 of the Licence between the Postmaster-General and the British Broadcasting Corporation regarding the employment of aliens, are being carried out.
§ Mr. GammansThe conditions governing the employment of aliens by the B.B.C. under Clause 11 of the new Licence are being revised and in due course will be sent to the Governors. The existing regulations dealing with the employment of aliens date from 1947 and my noble Friend is satisfied that the Corporation is observing them. Clause 12 of the Licence does not refer to aliens in particular but deals with secrecy of messages received by any member of the staff.
