§ Mr. Woodasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make his grant in aid to the Arts Council conditional upon their providing orchestral music and drama of educational and cultural value 10W to towns with small populations where these facilities cannot otherwise be provided.
§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterNo; a reasonable proportion of the funds available to the Council is, in fact, now expended in this field of their work. But I do not think it would be right for me to interfere in the way suggested with the details of the distribution of the Council's resources.
