§ 56. Mr. Bennasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what action he proposes taking to safeguard the rights of this country to use the wavelengths which are being relinquished as a result of the reduction in overseas broadcasting supported by, a grant-in-aid from his Department.
§ Mr. NuttingNo wavelengths now in use are being relinquished. The question of taking action to safeguard this country's rights to use them does not, therefore, arise.
76WThe economies which are being made will be directed mainly at reducing over-heads rather than output. Some saving will be made by reducing the number of transmissions on the wavelengths available to the B.B.C., but this is not the same thing as relinquishing them.
