HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c56W
102. Mr. Royle

asked the Minister of Education if the Government policy recently announced will entail the abandonment of building schemes approved by her Department and, in particular, of the extension of the Salford Technical Institute and the building of the new Salford Grammar School.

Miss Horsbrugh

No Salford projects which I have approved will have to be abandoned. The authority propose that the extension of the technical college should start in 1953–54, but I cannot yet say what may be included in that building programme. The new Grammar school is not included in the revised 1952–53 programme, but it is doubtful whether it would have been ready to start this year in any case.
