HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c47W
68. Lieut.-Colonel Lipton

asked the Minister of Agriculture what steps were taken to notify the owners of land on the Peacehaven-Saltdean Estates of the hearing of the Agricultural Land Tribunal last October which decided in favour of compulsory acquisition.

Sir T. Dugdale

Notices of their right of appeal to the Agricultural Land Tribunal were sent by post to all owners whose names and addresses were known. The land is split up into potential building plots belonging to a great number of owners, some of whom originally purchased their plots over 30 years ago, and it was not possible to trace all of them. Notices of the right to appeal to the Tribunal were put up on the land itself. All owners who had expressed a wish to appeal were notified by post of the sitting of the Tribunal.
