HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c40W
Mr. Marquand

asked the Minister of Health if he can now indicate how reductions in capital investment have affected plans for the building of new hospitals, especially mental hospitals and institutions for mental defectives.

Mr. Crookshank

The shortage of steel and other limitations on capital investment will inevitably delay a number of major hospital building projects, but full particulars are not available. I have asked Regional Boards in allocating their resources to give special attention to the need for accommodation for mental and mentally defective patients.
