HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c39W
6. Mr. Vaughan-Morgan

asked the Minister of Health how many hospitals now have geriatric units; and what steps his Department is taking to promote the establishment of future units.

Mr. Crookshank

There are at present 67 such units established, many of which serve several hospitals. Guidance on the treatment of the chronic sick, including the development of these services, has been sent to hospital authorities to encourage the expansion of the necessary facilities as resources permit, and I will send my hon. Friend a copy.
