HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 c53W
87. Mr. Carr

asked the Minister of Labour what action he is taking to ensure the resettlement in civilian employment of those Regular Service men who have been retained in Her Majesty's Forces beyond the normal expiration of their agreements.

Sir W. Monckton

There are special arrangements at employment exchanges to help ex-Regulars to obtain suitable employment, and these will be fully used to help these men. There is much good-will in industry towards ex-Regulars and many industries and services give them special consideration. So far there is no indication that retention in the Services causes any additional difficulty in resettlement, and I am confident that employers generally will be only too glad to employ these particular men.
