HC Deb 21 February 1952 vol 496 cc66-7W
139. Mr. Janner

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department under what auspices, and why, was Count von Westarp allowed to come to this country last December; and if he is aware that this man is the right-hand man of General Remer, the leader of the new Reich Socialist Partei, which is, in essence, a revival of the National Socialist Party in Germany.

Sir D. Maxwell Fyfe

Count von Westarp was granted a visa to enable him to pay a visit to a relative who lives in the United Kingdom and he was in this country for four days. I am aware of his political activities in Germany and any future application by him for a visa will be carefully scrutinised.
