§ Mr. H. HopkinsonAt Carfin there are 193,700 square feet of factory space and 548 persons were employed there at the end of 1951; at Chapelhall in 198,500 square feet 442 persons were employed; 109W and at Newhouse in 690,300 square feet 2,363 were employed. A number of firms will, however, be coming into production on these estates in the next few months, and the employment figures should improve thereafter.
