asked the Minister of Transport if he will consider authorising a "Stop—Children Crossing" sign, outside schools to give protection to children crossing the road, where there are adult patrols.

I am not sure whether the hon. Member has a new type of sign in mind, but "Stop—Children Crossing" signs authorised by the Minister of Transport have been in use for many years and have proved a valuable safeguard.
