§ 102. Mr. F. Harrisasked the Minister of Supply how many drivers and cars were available through the Government car pool in October, 1951; and what are the comparative figures today.
§ Mr. SandysThe number of drivers in the Official Car Service, other than motor cycle drivers, was 612 in October and is at present 603. These drivers are employed on all types of vehicles, including cars, vans, utilities, trucks and coaches. The number of these vehicles was 654 in October and is at present 626. Reductions are being planned and will take effect progressively.
§ Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Supply the number of Departments which during the past month have ordered a pool car in the morning and kept it for full use during the whole day.

§ Mr. Boyd-CarpenterFrom 11th December. The organisation of the Official Car Service is at present under review, as indicated by my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister in his reply to the hon. Member for Accrington (Mr. H. Hynd) on 3rd December, and in the meantime no chauffeurs have been dismissed, though some have, of course, been transferred to other driving duties.
