asked the Minister of Health how many hearing aids and wigs were issued free of charge to National Health Service patients in England and Wales during the most recent period of 12 months for which figures are available; and what was the total cost, respectively.

During 1951 the issues were 93,454 and 9,750 respectively, and the estimated cost excluding overheads was £329,000 and £124,000.
