asked the Minister of Agriculture how many head of poultry and other birds were destroyed on his order following fowl pest epidemic or other similar cause during 1950; the variety and number in each case; and what compensation was paid.

The number of birds slaughtered on the orders of my Department in connection with outbreaks of fowl pest during 1950 and the amount of compensation paid in respect of them are shown in the following statement. No birds were slaughtered for any other similar cause.
