§ Major Lloyd GeorgeUp to the 12th January, 5,477 tons of United States apples had been imported on private account at an f.o.b. cost of about £160,000. The decision to allocate dollars for these imports was taken last summer in pursuance of a general policy of enabling traditional suppliers to this country to maintain at least a limited trade.
