HC Deb 01 February 1952 vol 495 c65W
Mr. Morley

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what action he proposes to take to help English teachers in Egypt who have been summarily dismissed and left without financial resources.

Mr. Nutting

As indicated in the answer given by my right hon. Friend on 30th January to my hon. Friend the Member for Colchester (Mr. Alport) and in his supplementary answer to the hon. Member himself, His Majesty's Government are making every effort to assist these teachers, in common with all dismissed officials, both in securing compensation and obtaining other employment. His Majesty's Ambassador in Cairo has authority to offer financial assistance in cases of need.
