§ 116. Mr. Dribergasked the Minister of Agriculture what steps he is taking to assist the fishermen of Tollesbury, Essex, most of whom are now unemployed owing to their inability to find an adequate market for their catches of sprats.

DugdaleAs a result of an approach by the White Fish Authority, the Herring Industry Board are offering a price of £9 10s. per ton for surplus sprats delivered to their reduction factories from ports on the north shore of the Thames Estuary. The Tollesbury fishermen have been notified of this offer.
