§ 95. Mr. Swinglerasked the Minister of Education her estimates of the value of the schoolbuilding programme for the first and second quarters of 1953; and how these figure compare with the amounts spent in the first and second quarters of 1952.
§ Miss HorsbrughI cannot make an estimate at this stage of the value of work which will be done on schoolbuilding projects during each of the first two quarters of 1953 since this will depend upon several variable factors, including the weather. Assuming average conditions, however, 1 do not expect the total to be less than the figure for the first six months of 1952, which was about £17.75 million.
