§ 127. Mr. Dribergasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department to give sympathetic consideration to the appeal by the National Association of Retired Police Officers for an amendment of the Police Pension Regulations in favour of widows of police officers who died before 6th April, 1949.

Maxwell FyfeI am glad to say that many police widows whose husbands died before 6th April, 1949, will have their pensions increased under the Police Pensions Regulations, 1952, which are now in operation. For the reasons which were explained when these Regulations were debated on 9th December, however, I have not felt justified in granting all the increases urged by the Association.
