§ Mr. Speirasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will give details of the method by which prices are placed on the heads of Communist leaders in Malaya, so that rewards are paid to those who are successful in killing such Communists; by whom such rewards are paid; and whether they are paid to both military personnel and civilians alike.
§ Mr. LytteltonThe scale of rewards is graded according to the status of the terrorist killed or caught, and is higher for information leading to a capture than for a killing.
219WThe rewards are paid by the Government of the Federation of Malaya. Full-time paid members of the Security Forces (including military personnel) are not eligible to receive them.
