Mr. Lewisasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, resultant upon the official visit to the United Nations command in Korea of the President-Elect of the United States and his subsequent request to General MacArthur to submit his plan for the ending of the Korean war, he will give an assurance that Her Majesty's Government still stand by their declared policy of containing the Korean war and against any proposal to spread that war.
§ Mr. NuttingYes. It continues to be the policy of Her Majesty's Government to try to bring the conflict in Korea to an end as quickly as possible and to keep it within the limits of Korea while it lasts.
