§ 66. Sir W. Wakefieldasked the Minister of Transport what mileage of streets in London have surfaces composed wholly or partly of wood blocks; what steps are being taken to ensure their replacement by a non-skid surface; and when it is estimated that the work will be completed.
Mr. BraithwaiteI am making inquiries as to the first part of the Question and will write to my hon. Friend. Highway authorities replace wood blocks by non-skid surfaces as and when resurfacing is carried out. I cannot say when all such replacements will be completed.
