§ 64. Mr. McKibbinasked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that dipping equipment provided for motorcar headlights is either on the double-dipping system or on that of extinguishing one headlight and dipping the other; and if he will take steps, by regulation, to see that whatever system of dipping equipment is installed by manufacturers of cars for the United Kingdom it should be standardised.
Mr. BraithwaiteNo. My right hon. Friend is not satisfied that there is sufficient case for amending existing requirements in regard to headlights so as to preclude the use of either of the systems to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers or of other equally effective alternatives permitted by the current regulations.
