§ 101. Mr. Osborneasked the President of the Board of Trade in what form the promised Government help is to be given to halt the fall in productivity, which has now reached serious proportions and must be altered without delay.
§ Mr. H. StraussMeasures to improve productivity are, of course, primarily the responsibility of industry. The Government lend their support wherever possible, for example by the various incentive measures contained in the last 89W Budget. The Government also support the British Productivity Council who are preparing a programme of work designed to increase national productivity.
