§ Mr. J. P. L. ThomasThe chief increases in the Admiralty civil staff during the last six months have been in the departments concerned with production and design and with civil engineering works. There was also a small temporary increase in the Directorate of Navy Accounts, because of the introduction of the new Pensions Increase Act. Reductions have been made in a number of departments, including those dealing with naval personnel, the Secretary's department, the common services and the Admiralty constabulary.
