asked the Secretary of State for War whether free travel warrants granted to military personnel travelling on leave includes free travel by omnibus where no railway service exists.

Mr. Head

No. Where it is necessary to travel by bus for more than 5 miles in these circumstances a special warrant is issued or fares are refunded later. Special arrangements are made to re-imburse those travelling to remoter parts of the country which are not served by public transport.
