asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many local authorities are carrying out the policy laid down by his Department by issuing licences for private building of houses up to the limit of their powers; and how many are not.

125. Mr. Gower

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many local authorities are now issuing the maximum permitted proportion of private house building licences; how many are not doing so; and how many local authorities are still granting no private licences for the erection of houses.

My right hon. Friend has no complete information; although he is aware that there are variations of practice among local authorities.
