97. Mr. J. T. Price

asked the President of the Board of Trade how many schemes submitted for approval in Development Areas in England since 1st July, 1952, have been endorsed; how many rejected; and what are the respective capital costs of such schemes.

38 applications for industrial development certificates in respect of projects for Development Areas in England were received between 1st July, 1952, and 31st October, 1952, and all were granted. The total capital cost of these building schemes is estimated by the promoters to be about £3¾ million.
