HC Deb 02 December 1952 vol 508 c140W
96. Major Lloyd

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland the total expenditure made by the education authorities in Scotland under the heading of further education in the last full year for which figures are available; and what subjects are covered by further education.

Mr. J. Stuart

If education in universities and training colleges is excluded the total expenditure of education authorities in the financial year 1951–52 on further education, including assistance to pupils, was £2,025,000.

For a detailed list of the subjects covered I would refer my hon. and gallant Friend to pages 99–105 of the Report on Education in Scotland in 1951 (Cmd. 8515).
